Diamond-Copper Composite: What to Define Before Requesting a Quote

Diamond-copper composites are engineered for thermal management where conductivity, geometry, mechanical behavior, and interface design must be considered together. The material architecture and test conditions should be made explicit before comparing quotations.

Define the material architecture

State whether the request is for a bulk composite, a layered structure, or a specific copper and diamond distribution. If composition is flexible, define the performance target and constraints. Do not treat a nominal composition or conductivity as confirmed until it has been agreed for the actual design.

Specify performance and geometry

Provide length, width, thickness, tolerance, flatness, surface finish, mounting features, and the target thermal conductivity. Include the test method, temperature, and direction of measurement if the value is critical to the design.

Make the interface measurable

Share the mating surface, joining method, heat source footprint, and mechanical load. Agree on inspection records and sample evaluation criteria before moving from prototype dimensions to production quantities.
