Fused Quartz Tubes for Semiconductor Process Equipment

Fused quartz tubes are used in thermal process equipment where geometry, purity, thermal behavior, and cleanliness must fit the tool and process. A useful RFQ defines the tube as an assembly component, not only by its outside diameter.

Define the tube geometry

Provide inner diameter, outer diameter, length, wall thickness, tolerance, straightness, concentricity, end geometry, and any closed-end or machined features. If the tube interfaces with seals or fixtures, include the mating dimensions and installation constraints.

State process conditions

Include operating temperature, atmosphere, chemical exposure, cycle frequency, and cleaning requirements. These details help the supplier review material grade and fabrication feasibility. They also help identify where dimensional stability or surface condition needs closer attention.

Agree on inspection and cleanliness

Specify how critical dimensions will be measured, what visual or surface checks are required, and how parts should be cleaned and packaged. For custom tubes, a drawing with tolerances and datum references avoids interpretation differences.
